Recreational CyclingThe School of Exercise, Biomedical and Health Sciences incorporates degree programs in the areas of Exercise and Sports Science, Human Biology, Occupational Therapy, Paramedical Science and Public Health. The School also offers minors in the areas of Nutrition and Human Performance and services a major nutritional stream in the Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Science degrees.

A strong focus is placed on teaching and research, and in state of the arts laboratory facilities provide an excellent environment for conducting both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Industry practice modules in several of the degrees ensure that the graduates in our programs are provided with real life experience and opportunities that prepare them for their chosen career paths.

The School has a very active research program led by the Centre for Human Genetics which operates in conjunction with the Human Biology program. In recent times, the Centre has been the recipient of major national and international research grants. Other research groups within the School, aligned to the various academic disciplines, include:

The School is proud of its enthusiastic and committed staff who ensure that they keep abreast with the latest research and industry trends. They are active in publishing in major journals and present at national and international conferences. The staff are encouraged at all times to maintain contact with industry and community groups through research and consultancy work. The currency of our courses is ensured through industry representation on discipline consultative committees.

Another feature of the School is the Joondalup Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Health and Science building on the Joondalup Campus. Managed by Dr Darryl Turner, a graduate of ECU, the Centre provides a a musculoskeletal rehabilitation service.

Well-qualified staff, together with excellent teaching and research facilities, place the School's programs at the forefront of their respective disciplines.
