Addiction Studies
The Addiction Studies stream provides students with an understanding of drug use (including alcohol and tobacco), drug-related problems, prevention and treatment initiatives that aim to minimise drug related harm.
Issues arising from the use of drugs are pervasive to all areas of health, welfare and human services and the supporting major is designed to complement studies in the Health Science major.
Employment opportunities exist in both government and non-government alcohol and other drug agencies and in community, health, human service and welfare settings.

Opportunities for work in Health Promotion continue to expand with the recognition that health is more than the absence of disease. People no longer just want to live longer; they want to live well. Therefore, there is a growing demand to inform the public of ways to prevent and minimise the impact of diseases and live a healthier lifestyle.
The Health Promotion course equips students with knowledge and skills in health communication, planning and administration, research and evaluation, social market and communication development.
