Exercise and Sports Science
Undergraduate Course Information
The Bachelor of Science courses offered in Exercise and Sports Science are designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and sound practical skills in the field of exercise and sports science. In addition, marketing, management and counselling skills relevant to health, sport and exercise are available to be studied as supporting majors/minors/electives.
Both our degree programs enable graduates direct membership with the only federally recognised accreditation agency in the field of exercise and sports science, the Australian Association for Exercise and Sports Science (AAESS). Importantly, students completing the Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) degree can gain accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist with AAESS.
The three-year Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree is designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and sound practical skills in exercise and sports science. The course consists of a 16-unit major, which is to be accompanied by an 8-unit supporting major or a 6-unit minor from a selected area plus 2 electives. Students completing the three-year Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree along with the AAESS Special Accreditation Major will receive AAESS membership .
The four-year Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) degree, which articulates with the three-year Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree and AAESS supporting major, is designed to give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and sound practical skills in exercise science and rehabilitation. Students wishing to enter into the Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) must first complete a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) degree (or equivalent) along with the AAESS supporting major. Completion of the four year Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) course enables Exercise Physiologist accreditation through AAESS.
